Best Tear Stain Remover for English Bulldogs — 2022 Edition
Squishface Wrinkle Paste, why I love it, why you can trust me

My recommendation: 4/5
Left unclean your bulldog's wrinkles allow bacteria flourish which can be uncomfortable for the dog and it causes what's known as tear stains – the dark, discoloured, wet-looking fur beneath the eyes.
In this article, I’ll share my personal opinion on the best tear stain remover for English Bulldogs.
Squishface Wrinkle Paste for Bulldogs

Squishface Wrinkle Paste for Bulldogs
Small but mighty, this is my favourite tear stain remover for bulldogs. A USA brand but available in both US and UK.
Pros
✓ Gets to work fast
✓ Easy to apply
✓ Skin friendly ingredients
✓ Compact size
Cons
✗ A little pricey
✗ Small container
Squishface is a USA brand, exclusively making products for bulldog owners like you and me.
Their wrinkle paste can also be used on other wrinkly areas and tail pockets, which are common bodily areas on bulldogs where dirt, grime and bacteria can build up.
The thick cream works by creating a water repellent barrier between the skin folds to keep them dry, healthy and stink-free.
It's great for other dog breeds too, like pugs, french bulldogs and other wrinkly doggos.

Gets to work fast
When trying to fix a skin condition that can be visibility uncomfortable for your bulldog, you really do want and need something that will work fast. The good news is I found this wrinkle cream to get to work almost immediately, I applied the cream before Luna went to bed and within 24 to 36 hours, I could see a remarkable difference.
The wetness had subdued, and the painfully red-looking skin had started to become a lighter pink. I was shocked at this point, nothing else had worked so fast. I am a big critic at times though, so I kept applying the paste nightly for a week to ensure this wasn't my mind believing what I wanted to see – I was proven wrong.
Easy to apply
Just wash and clean the wrinkles with a wet wipe, dry thoroughly using a dry wipe then apply a thin layer directly in the wrinkle crevice - then let it do its magic
Skin friendly ingredients
It's made from skin-friendly ingredients, so it's really gentle on the skin and irritation-free, which is perfect for sensitive breeds
What's not to like?
- A little pricey
- Small volume
A little pricey
At the time of writing I paid £20 for a single container. Although its a bit pricey, after seeing that it actually works I'd pay the same price or more over and over it meant my bulldog wasn't in pain.
Small container
Beware the container is on the small side, which startled me at first considering the price. That said, I'm really happy with the results.
Why You Can Trust Me
First of all, I am a proud dog dad to Luna, my own English Bulldog. Luna, like other brachycephalic breeds, has a wrinkly face which can get very messy with dirt and grime.
It sounds nasty but the tear stain appearance is caused by bacteria building up over time and can become uncomfortable and sore for dogs. So it's really important to keep your dog's skin folds super clean.

When Luna was a puppy, you could barely notice any tear stains, her fur was incredibly healthy and dry looking. But over time as she matured, that all changed.
I had tried countless creams, oils and shampoos over the years and could never make a real difference to the stains. I admit each ointment had its merits, but none were quite the miracle worker like Squishface wrinkle cream.
Here is a photo of Luna with visible tear stains, so you know exactly what to look out for. If your bulldog has wrinkles like this, try out Squishface Wrinkle Paste.

Final thoughts
Not only has Squishface's wrinkle paste removed the most stubborn of tear stains on Luna, but I'm also a major fan of the brand and what they are trying to do.
They really get the struggles of bulldog owners and developed a brand that tackles the problems head-on, which for me is why this paste is the best tear stain remover for English bulldogs.
Plus, they've also created their own wrinkle wipes which can be a great alternative to the sometimes messy paste.
